Political leaders are approving the developments of the gambling establishment in hopes of raising the necessary revenue without consequences for their constituents. Political leaders are aware that a significant number of people already have gambling problems and the likelihood that more people will develop an addiction is likely to increase. It’s unfortunate, but these same leaders refuse to do anything about it, as increased revenue from gambling establishments helped fund many needed state programs.
Political leaders look to the short term, because they are continually tested to see what they can do for their voters. These leaders are not elected for life and generally serve for two years unless they are re-elected. Once they are ready for reelection, they tell voters that this is what they have accomplished during their tenure. It’s unfortunate, but these gambling establishments are slowly draining the economy. By the time all the negative effects are felt, either the political leader is no longer in office, stands for reelection with all the new promises, or another source of income is found. This political game continues until enough people pressure their leaders. The problem with gambling is a silent addiction and very few people are willing to admit that they have a compulsive addiction to gambling, that they lost all their money gambling, that they stole from their employer to be able to gamble, or that they are ashamed to make it known to loved ones who had a problem. . Once again the political leader wins and his voters and the local economy lose.
People gamble excessively. A gambling establishment couldn’t expand at the rate it does if people weren’t wasting their money. These same people cut back on spending at their local shopping centers, personal entertainment like movies, and cut back on everyday staples. I met a mother who stopped buying milk. She thought that she could save twenty dollars a month and this would give her more resources to gamble. Now that she’s stopped, she can’t believe she could do something like that to her family.
Gambling establishments created an empire. They opened gift shops, entertainment concert halls, gas stations and a unique restaurant within their entertainment complex. They give each customer a tracking card that earns them points only valid at their gaming complex as they play. They then use these points to eat, entertain, stay, or buy gifts. These last vacations a significant number of people saved some of their points to buy family gifts. Once again, gambling establishments win and local businesses and shopping centers lose.
Not everyone is addicted to gambling, but a good majority of people enjoy recreational gambling. It’s unfortunate, but even a casual gamer plays more than he bargained for. These casual players will also have to cut back on their expenses for a short period of UFABET time. They may not go to your local restaurant because they cannot eat for free at the gambling establishment. In all of these situations, the local economy suffers. People who live within fifty miles of a gambling establishment are more likely to be adversely affected.
It is time to find a solution to this growing epidemic. Political leaders must step up and stop the kidnapping of people. Recently, there have been a significant number of commercials related to gambling addiction. Everyone applauded this first attempt at dealing with gambling addictions. Unfortunately, it seems that the leaders are too late. An acre of burning earth cannot be distinguished with a glass of water.
The only solution to stopping the gambling problem is to regulate gambling establishments or consider closing them until a solution is found. Regardless of which direction political leaders choose, they must accelerate the pace.
